On May 29, 2012 at approximately 5:00 PM, Idaho Sate Police investigated a one-vehicle fatal crash on Old Kilgore Road, 12 miles east of Dubois. A 1989 Ford F150 pickup truck towing a 15 foot fishing boat was heading westbound when it failed to negotiate a curve and rolled. Kevin Johnson, 40, and Kobe Johnson, 10, both from Rawlins, Wy, and Shayne Siren, 34, of Dubois, were all ejected from the vehicle. Kevin Johnson and Shayne Siren succumbed to their injuries on scene. Kobe Johnson was transport to Eastern Idaho Region Medical Center and then flown to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Evidence indicates no seat-belts were worn and alcohol is believed to be a factor, the driver is yet to be determined. This crash is still under investigation.

On May 7, 2012, at approximately 10:00 pm, Idaho State Police investigated a two vehicle, minor injury crash on the westbound side of Interstate 84 near milepost 2.
Carla Leahy, 62, of Tucson, Arizona, was traveling west on Interstate 84 in a 1994 Buick when her vehicle was struck from behind by a 2012 Dodge pickup pulling a camper, driven by Ronald Baker, 80, of Caldwell. The car went off the right shoulder where it rolled, coming to rest on its top. Leahy was transported by ground ambulance to the Ontario St. Alphonsus Medical Center with non life-threatening injuries. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts.
The crash is still under investigation by Idaho State Police with assistance at the scene by Payette County Sheriff’s deputies and emergency personnel.

Idaho Trucking Accident

On January 31, 2012, around 6:30 p.m., there was a two-vehicle injury crash on US 93, in Twin Falls County, Idaho. Charisse Stenerson, age 50 of Lynwood, WA, was traveling north on US 93 when her vehicle traveled across the center line into southbound traffic. Stenerson’s vehicle collided with a Freightliner semi truck. The truck was driven by Douglas Lunstad, age 37 of Fairview, MT. Stenerson’s vehicle rolled over and came to rest on the west shoulder of the road. Stenerson was transported by ground ambulance to Saint Luke’s Magic Valley Regional Medical Center in Twin Falls, ID.

Southbound traffic was blocked for approximately one hour during the investigation. Both occupants were wearing seatbelts. It is unknown if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
